![]() Here are a few thoughts, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call them recommendations: It supplies pure information, but not how, when and why to use it. ![]() The API, for instance, has a crap-load of information, but it’s a reference. Learning rigging/scripting mainly seems to come down to knowing where to look to find the information and it isn’t always obvious. That’s partly because I never was a properly-trained sci-geek so I don’t have that to fall back on when I get into a dark corner. That said, however, I’m still mystified by the Rigify code. After spending days trying to figure out WHAT to do and HOW to do it, it turned out to be so damned simple it was almost laughable. ![]() ![]() I’ve made a few small modifications to the Rigify UI script as well as co-authored a script for orienting Custom Shapes for bones. That may be a personal foible (my wife says it is) but whatever. What tripped me up was getting to the point of understanding just how simple it was. But, there are some example scripts and that’s a big help.īlender Python isn’t all that difficult once you kind-of understand some core concepts and that’s another good thing. I’ve been digging into Python as it pertains to rigging and there isn’t a lot of information out there at the moment.
